Week 2 day 5: Coming to an End

VE day

My imaginary VE day party would be having a barbicue with burgers, sausages, kebabs, chicken drumsticks and walnuts. We would have a big meal and then later we would go for a swim. I would invite all of my close family and some family friends.

Making a fashion statment

Fashion is recyclable.
These are some fashions from 1940's, now and 65 years from now.
The fashion could go in a loop from the 1900's to the early 2000's and then in the future the fashion could come back to the 1900's. I don't really care to much about fashion as long as the clothes are comtorfable.

  1. Hey Leo,

This is Jade C from the Summer Learning Journey 2018. It's great to be back to read more of your amazing blog post!

Well done for being an active blogger and going though all the activities :)
VE day would be a day to celebrate freedom and victory with the people you love. I would also love to have a big barbecue with my family and friends on VE day! I would also watch comedy movies and eat popcorn and sweets.

Wow, I totally agree with your fashion statement above! Fashion is definitely in a loop and things that were fashionable in the olden days are now back in trend! I really like how you mentioned that clearly in your statement :) I also like comfortable clothes, I'm wearing my comfortable clothes right now! It's nice to dress up and look nice, but being comfortable is the BEST!

I love fudges, especially the chocolate flavoured ones :) which flavour is your favourite? Yummmm... just by reading the recipe makes me salivate.... I want to try your recipe and make some at home. Thank you for sharing! I also like how you posted a photo of it as well!

I look forward to hearing from you and reading more of your posts!

    All the best,
    Jade C.

    1. Thanks Jade C
I really liked the idea of having a party on VE Day because there should always be a celebration after something like that. all those who fought well and died should have a day of remembarance. It would have also been good to watch movies every VE day because it shouldn't all just be barbecues and outside games, there should also be some inside games aswell.

There could be a loop hole in the loop that other people might find and continue of to forever. I would say that even though you might extroadanarily find some people with the old fashion sense, thier sense could br the trend in 2071.

My faveorite fudge flavor is Russian ( even though it isn't russian.) I don't know why I like it though? I always have a photo because if you don't have one you won't know what it looks like.

  2. Hi Leo!

My name is Jade F and I'm one of the bloggers from the Summer Learning Journey along with Hazel, Jade C, Rachel and many other bloggers!

I thought your VE day barbecue sounded like such an amazing idea! That’s great that you would invite all of your close friends and family, I would probably invite the same people for my VE day party and have a barbecue too. All your food that you talked about having at your party sounded so good! I would probably make chicken burgers and ask my Mum to make her potato salad, it’s so yum!

I definitely agree with your statement in your second task about fashion being in a loop. It’s so interesting how many pieces of clothing are coming back into style from the olden days and well done on clearly addressing that in your statement. I also liked that you’ve mentioned that you don’t care about fashion as long as it’s comfortable, which is definitely how I dress usually. Just a some jeans and a top and I’m happy. :)

WOW! That Russian fudge looks very delicious and quite easy to make. Great job on including the recipe by the way! I might just show my Mum and my Grandma this recipe, we might want to try and make it for the family. Have you made these before for your family?

Looking forward to reading more of your blog posts Leo, great job!

    Cheers,
    Jade F :)

  3. Kia Ora Leo,

My name is Georgia and I'm the cluster manager for the Kaikohekohe Cluster. It is awesome to see you've begun the Summer Learning Journey and we are so excited to see you've completed some activities.

Well done on completing week two, day five's activities. I really enjoyed reading your responses and think you've done an awesome job!

That's great that you only care about whether the clothing is comfortable. I think it's absolutely ridiculous what some people will wear just to be 'up to date with fashion'. I also agree that fashion runs in a kind of loop. My mum used to wear the jeans that are now back in fashion with my age, they must just run out of innovative designs!

Your russian fudge looks delicious! That's a great recipe you've included too, I often use Chelsea's recipes for baking and cooking. I personally love her chocolate chip cookie recipe, they are always so soft and mouthwatering. Have you ever made the russian fudge at home?

Keep up the great blog posts and I look forward to reading more from you soon.
