The Silent Movies.
I would enjoy watching silent movies because they are really short but funny. I feel like people should try and get the old films, find sound and make the pictures colourful again so more kids would watch them. Charlie Chaplin was a famous comedian and mime and alot of people still dress up like him because he was funny.
Art Deco.
I rate the portrait 5 out of 5 because it is really good and I quite like how it isn't just a person. It's not very colourful but in a good way and you can see shapes throughout. The artist has put a lot of work into the painting and it looks like it took days to paint.

Hey Leo,
ReplyDeleteThis is Jade C from the Summer Learning Journey team 2018, and I will be reading your blog over the summer. I am looking forward to reading and commenting more on your blog posts!
It's great to see that you have been very active over the holidays, this shows that you are learning even outside the school, ka pai!
I also like black and white movies because if there is a violent scene that shows blood, it doesn't scare me as much as the coloured movies. Also, I like them because I think they get you to think in depth about the hidden message behind the story. I love James Dean's movies, he is one of my favourite actors.
I've seen a lot of artworks like this at the Art Deco Festival held in Napier last year. My mum and I wore colourful clothes and jewelries to pretend that we were from the 1920s. There were fancy vintage cars on display and few people were driving them in the parade. Have you been to any Art Deco festivals? Also, 'The Great Gatsby' is based in 1920s "The Jazz Age".
I really enjoyed reading your blog and sharing thoughts and ideas with you. I look forward to reading more of your activity blogs! :)
All the best,
Jade C.
